If Your Child is Sick After Office Hours
If your child is a patient of Denise Wolken MD Pediatrics and you have concerns about your child being sick outside of regular business hours, please call the office phone number at 315-991-4180. This phone number will be answered by the answering service who will contact the doctor on call or nurse triage service to answer your questions or concerns. There is always a doctor on call 24/7 and you should never feel your child's care is uncovered. If it is a non urgent question that can wait until the next business day, send a message to our patient portal.
Medical Emergency and After Hours Emergencies
If your child is ever in a life threatening emergency situation, do not call my office or after hours answering service; instead call 911, and have the ambulance take your child to Upstate (University) Hospital Emergency Department in Syracuse.
For any medical emergency when our office is closed, your child's illness or injury is best managed by Upstate Golisano Children's After Hours Care at Community General Campusor the Pediatric Emergency Department of University Hospital at Upstate. These facilities are staffed by emergency physicians trained in Pediatrics.
Our primary hospital affiliations are with Crouse Hospital, Golisano Children's Hospital at Upstate Medical University, and St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Wolken attends her newborns at Crouse Hospital and will see them during their newborn stay. Her new babies born at St Joseph's Hospital Health Center and Community General Hospital are seen by the staff neonatologists while in the hospital and transferred to our care upon discharge. Dr. Wolken holds a clinical faculty appointment at Golisano Children's Hospital at Upstate. If your child should require an overnight stay at this state-of-the-art, high quality facility, you will be cared for by their team of Pediatric Hospitalists.
